Simon Chege

Simon, fondly known as Simon Lines or simply Lines is a Kenyan based creative with decade of experience in various forms of art namely music, graphic design, photography and branding. Of the aforementioned, photography has been the longest and most scaled, running a photography business, Lines Photography for close to a decade. All through, Simon has taken photos in almost all spheres a photographer can practice their art. This ranges from studio photography, to event coverage and advertising. Along the way he has worked with numerous brands such as Redbull, FIDA, Resolution Insurance, Nimble group, and numerous creative agencies including The Bar Africa and Red Giant in advertising campaigns. In advertising Simon has shot campaigns for GOTV Africa, Amaize Premium maize Flour, Soko Flours, Flexpay, QB Energy Kenya among others.

Simon believes in creating a vibrant and thriving creative community through skill and opportunity sharing. As a self-taught photographer, the journey from budding to be a photographer to his current portfolio and industry rating was a journey that needed him to accumulate skill. As he gathered skills for himself, he shared his spoils with fellow photographers in various forms. One year into his photography journey, Simon created a platform to ease sharing of photography knowledge and peer interaction. This platform was a Whatsapp group named Learning with Lines that is today more than half a decade old. Through the group, current with membership of 300+ photographers, learning, networking, sharing of jobs has occurred on a daily basis to the benefit of all. Further than the group, is a YouTube channel that was created for the purpose of sharing visual photography tutorials and classes.

Through the years and the platforms created, Simon has cut a name for himself as one of the most mentionable photography trainers in the country. Through online consultations, direct phone calls, one on one personal or group classes, Simon and Learning with Lines have created a brand geared towards effective and actionable photography training, curated from a curriculum developed through years of experience, experimentation, consultation and research. From personal level classes, to joint workshops with creative associations such as the Photographers Association of Kenya (PAK) and further up to photography training sessions with state and corporate agencies like the Kenya National Library Services, Simon has amassed a wealth of experience in photography training, as supported the highly reviewed classes and online content.
